ECR Mentorship Programme

In 2025 we launched the QRSE Early Career Researcher (ECR) Mentorship Programme. As a society we want to establish a network and community both amongst and within ECRs and more senior members.

Who:

We are looking to recruit both mentors who would like to share their expertise, knowledge, and perspective to help support ECRs in the QRSE community, and mentees who want to become more involved in the society, feel they could benefit from senior guidance, and further their exploration of qualitative methods.

Overview:

The goal of this programme is to enhance qualitative research skills, foster academic networks, and encourage meaningful collaborations. Whether you are looking to share your experience as a mentor or gain guidance as a mentee, this program provides a valuable opportunity to connect and grow within our qualitative research community.

This programme will run for 1 year, with the expectation that mentorship groups meet online roughly 4x per year. A mentor will be assigned to a small group of mentees who share similar interests. Mentorship meetings will be centred around discussion and queries in relation to qualitative methods and academic related roles. We encourage each mentorship group to create a shared online space for ongoing communication and resource sharing. Further, the society will collect feedback six months into the programme to implement any necessary changes.

We are here to start the initiative but also to support you along the way!
